As a brand marketing firm, we at Dimensional Design approach all of our projects a little differently than a typical design firm. As a jumping off point for both new and established clients, we begin every project by collaborating as a team of industrial designers, project managers, and production. From the outset, we work as a single unit to create a dynamic, practical final product dedicated towards the end user.
With this common goal in mind, DD begins our Research process knowing that we must understand and communicate what our client does and wants for their target audience. DD works to define the design tasks requested by researching the client and product. This could be completed by anything from interviewing the client’s team members, to conducting a series of brainstorming meetings with surveys and questionnaires, to researching currently used branding methods, services, affiliations and competition.
When Brainstorming, we generate a multitude of initial concepts. We like to represent the core message that the client wants to convey in addition to including several “outside-the-box” concepts that may not have been initially considered. After narrowing our ideas down to some select concepts, we begin the Design and Rendering phase. We develop several of these concepts and choose the strongest designs to render. We present these concepts as high resolution renderings for evaluation from the client and for remarks leading to design finalization. Once a selected design has been critiqued and revised, it is then refined into a final presentation rendering.
Our final phase, Implementation, involves producing engineered drawings and a final product. Incorporating materials and engineering needs specific to the project, we meet with the client as well as our production team to finalize all details within the project. Responsibility is then shifted to production where they work hand-in-hand with design to create and ensure an accurate final product. DD executes varying levels of implementation dependent upon the demands of each project from prototyping and custom products development all the way up to full manufacturing and installation.
